Today Ben and I got to spend some of the day together. After Ben's work meeting, he thought he'd have some time before possibly having to work so we decided to head to the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis..JPG)
To honor the veterans on Memorial Day, they have boy scouts put a flag on all 179,000 graves and it was a breathtaking sight! I couldn't get a single picture to do it justice, but I sure tried!
We wandered around in the heat for about an hour and then drove through the whole thing. 179,000 graves take up a lot of space, but it was worth every minute. Ben really enjoyed the time as those who have served in the military hold a very special place in his heart. He even searched for vetrans with the last name Clark. When he found there are over 500 of them, we decided to stop by just a couple to pay our respects to the family name..JPG)
Even though it was SO hot and VERY humid, we really enjoyed ourselves. However, the heat didn't last all day. We stopped off at Best Buy on our way home and as we walked in the store the sun was shining and it was hot. However, 20 minutes later we walked out of the store to this...
Thank goodness we had our Memorial Day BBQ a day early or it would have been ruined! Welcome to Missouri.
