After hanging out in St. Louis for a few days with my Mom, we made a trip up to Nauvoo, Illinois to see some church history sites. It was such a neat experience although it was a pretty fast trip. We only had about a day and half so we didn't see everything there is to see, but it was still a good time. We attended the Nauvoo temple first and even got a private tour of the baptistry which was beautiful!
Next, we went to Old Nauvoo to see some museums and old houses. We also saw the Smith family graves which was really neat.
The last stop was the Mississippi River for my Mom. A friend of hers at work asked for a bottle full of Mississippi River water...gross. She's a good friend, that water is nasty!
On our way back, we stopped at Carthage Jail for a tour and that was a very neat experience. It's so crazy to be standing where such historical things took place. Here is one of the cells in the jail.
The whole trip was super fast, but very educational and fun. It was great to spend time with Ben and Mom!
