New York Minute

Okay, so they say a New York minute is faster than the normal minute, so we decided to take a challenge and see how many things we could fit into a "New York Day." I think we won...we had planned to go see a Broadway show with my friend Jenny this weekend and it just so happened that my sister Cindi was out here visiting that weekend so it worked out perfectly! We headed up to the Big Apple to have a fun filled day! First thing we did was stand in line to get Broadway tickets. They are so darn expensive and we wanted to try to be frugal. Well it just so happens that it worked! We stood in line for an hour and got an AMAZING deal on seats in the orchestra section...ten rows back! We were going to the matinee showing, but we still had a few hours to kill. Instead of relaxing and enjoying the city, we decided to head down to Canal Street for some shopping! Cindi and I got purses and the boys got some DVD's. Next, back on the subway toward Times Square for some food! We didn't have much time so we just stopped at a little shop and ate while we walked. I felt like a real New Yorker at that point. Then, to Ambassador Theatre for Chicago!
Dave, Cindi, Jenny, Jen, and Ben
It was such a good show! Although, it's not one of the big "production" shows, it was still well worth it.
The Empire State Building was next on our list and in the back of our minds was a baseball game. We headed to the Empire State Building for a quick look, but decided we really wanted to go to the baseball game so we didn't have time to do the grand tour...next time. So, it was back to the car (to change into warmer clothes for the girls) and then onto the Mets Stadium!
We quickly learned that when the Mets play the Yankees, the game is probably going to be sold out! However, we were told that sometimes they release more tickets so if we went and stood in a line, we had a chance...what else were we gonna do, right? When we got to the line it felt like we were on Wall Street doing some sort of bidding/trading. When a ticket man walked toward the group everyone started holding up their fingers and screaming how many tickets they needed. The ticket man would then walk down the line telling them how many tickets were available and how much they cost. At first we weren't going to stay because it wasn't looking good for us since we needed 5 tickets, but we all just kept standing there because of how entertaining it wasAfter about an hour, we were at the front of the line and every time the ticket man came over he would say things like, "I've got 2 tickets for $161 each" and we just kept waving him by. Then finally they had 5 open up...that weren't $161 each...and we were on our way! We stopped for some food (Ben LOVES ballpark food by the way) and by the time we sat down, we had only missed 2 innings! It was pretty akward since there were mixed fans everywhere in the stadium. The Yankees ended up pulling through after a very close game. Then, back to Jersey for the night and then back to good old Baltimore the next morning.

Monday was Cindi's last night in town so we decided to initiate her into the Buffalo Wild Wings club! She's going to be out here for a whole month soon she better get used to it...we still go there very often.
