Apparently they are all high quality machines because 3 of the 5 scooters malfuntioned in some way. Luckily, it is a VERY small island, so help was very quick to come. Here's our scooter that blew a tire! It sounded like a gun shot when it happened.
First stop for the scooter brigade...the Southernmost Point of the Continental Unites States
Then on to the Key Lime Shoppe! We had some AMAZING key lime pie and tasted many other things with key limes in them (BBQ sauce, salsa, etc)
The skies looked like it was going to start raining and it didn't rain...it POURED! By the time we got back to return our scooters, this is what we looked like!!
People who saw us were pointing and laughing while standing under awnings or in buildings. We couldn't stop to wait for the storm to let up or we might have missed the ship!
Second stop: Cozumel, Mexico. We rented jeeps in Cozumel and went to see the sights. First we stopped for some authentic Mexican food at a little place called
and it was delicious! It was also a great environment, right by the beach. It was on the second story of a building, but that didn't stop them from brining the beach to us. There was sand under our feet, check it out!
Next we went to the beach to get some sun
It was all fun and games until Eric got beat up by some rocks. Sad faces.
Our final stop in Cozumel was some ruins. Our trip wasn't long since it was getting late and the mosquitos came out to eat!
Third and final stop: Belize City, Belize. Here we went on a really cool excursion. We went on a hike/tour of some old caves and floated down a river on tubes for part of it. They also provided some yummy lunch for us. Here is our whole group with the tour guides.
Then we just walked around some little shops before getting back on the ship
And now for the cruise ship fun...this is what made the vacation. I thought I had seen every towel sculpture possible. Well, I was wrong. One night I was very impressed with this little guy
Ben and I at dinner one night
The boys with Bowzer. Don't know who Bowzer is? Neither did I. He is a singer/actor who played on Grease as a band member at the dance. Apparently this is his trademark look. Attractive, right?
The only time we had no cameras with us was during his show which was awesome. Ben went on stage and did a hula hoop contest and you can image how awesome He was! That image will forever be in my mind and probably all those in attendance. SO funny!
Of couse there was dancing! A lot of dancing! I even dazzled a small crowd with my best impression of Madonna singing Get Into the Groove. Apparently being married to Ben for 3 years has forced me out of my comfort zone a bit. Nice outfit, huh? My back up dancers
The boys getting into their groove
The dancing award goes to...Miss Alison. She is unreal and this photo is a very slight taste of what she can really do.
This girl was the star of the vacation, not to mention a birthday girl on the cruise ship! We had a great time with some hillarious people!
