Here we are with the Hollywood sign in the background...very small, we were quite far away from it.
Here are the boys at Grauman's Chinese Theater, looking at hand and foot prints in the cement. And finally, we made it to Pink's. It's a good thing we had a whole day because the line was VERY long.
This is what we waited for...the boys were in heaven!
After that adventure, we went back to the hotel for a good night's sleep before our big travel day. We arrived in Maui and started the adventures. Here is the sunset from our hotel room.
The next morning, we got up bright and early and went up to Heleakala crater to watch the sunrise. It was SO COLD!!!
We just hung out at the beach for the rest of the day to soak up some sun. Of course the boys couldn't sit still very long so they got up and made a sand castle
The next day, we planned to do the Road to Hana. Ben and I never made it last year when we were in Maui so we knew that had to be on the itinerary this time. It was beautiful!
We saw a bamboo jungle, many waterfalls,
a black sand beach,
a red sand beach,
and our favorite...the pools of Venus.
When we got there, we were the only ones, so we had the place to ourselves! The boys couldn't sit still, again, and found a some cliffs to jump off.
It was such a fun, but very tiring day!
The next day, we just spent most of it on the beach. We headed down to Wailea beach and the boys decided to tackle a bigger project. Here it is!Pretty impressive, huh? There were several people on the beach who came up to tell them how cool it was and even take pictures of it. After playing in the warm ocean for a little while longer, we went back to the hotel to get ready for a luau.
It was the best luau we've been to! We've only been to 3, so it's not like we had too many to compare it to, but the food was delicious and the entertainment was great! Here is the pig they unburied
The next day, we went to Oahu so we could catch the direct flight home and meet up with friends Becky and Lance! They had just started their vacation as we were getting ready to leave. We met up and went to Duke's for dinner. It was so yummy!
Aloha!

OMG, the road to Hana (is that right?) looks AMAZING!!! And I am glad your luau was fun...ours was the dumbest, most over priced thing EVER and the food was terrible!! And on a side note, as I am typing this my little baby is wiggling all over the place - I think he senses I am writing to his future bf's mom! Haha
Your trip sounds so amazing! That black sand is crazy, I've never seen anything like that! We REALLY need to make a trip out to Hawaii one of these years, we've both never been and I can tell we're seriously missing out!
Holy freak look how long your hair is! Love it. I also love that Ben couldn't sit still...it made me think of Elf and how he got a whole 45 minutes of sleep and built a rocking horse:)
Dave still has a line on his back seperating his bum and back from the sun burn he got! It was great going with you guys again!
