First off, the ultrasound technician was so sweet! He's a cute European guy with such a fun personality. He told us he was going to go over all the other parts before the 'main event' and got started.
There were 2 big screens in the room, one on the wall directly in front of the bed where I was, which was SO nice. In the doctor's office, there was only one tiny little screen and I had to sit up a little and turn my head to see it, but then my ab muscles were tightening making if harder to see the baby. So that alone was worth the money (in my opinion). That, plus the ultrasound gel was warm instead of ice cold. The other big screen was on the wall right in front of Ben so we were all seeing the same thing, but on our own screen.
The ultrasound technician went through all the parts and said everything looked good. Then, he said, "I'm not going to say if it's a boy or a girl, you tell me what you think." I don't know if I'm the only slow one out here, but I have SUCH a hard time distinguishing things on an ultrasound. Well, apparently my husband doesn't share the same handicap and I heard him say, "It's a boy!" I was so excited to hear it, but to be honest, I couldn't see what Ben saw. I asked the ultrasound technician if Ben was right and he just laughed at me and said, "Yes, it's a boy." I still couldn't see anything and instead of just being quiet and believing them, I asked, "So, how sure are you that it's a boy?" Both of them were laughing at this point and the tech said, "100% it's a boy." Thank goodness one of the photos he printed out is pretty clear to see, so now I believe it.
IT'S A BOY!!!
He went through everything again after we knew it was a boy. When I looked over at Ben, this is what I saw...Cute, huh? Isn't he gonna be such a great Daddy? I think so! I think he was day dreaming about throwing a football with his son.
So, here he is...Baby Boy Clark
Also, yesterday morning, I was laying in bed and thought I felt some movement. Sometimes my belly gets a little bit tight and this time I felt more than tightness. I had Ben feel it and he said he couldn't tell if it was his own pulse he was feeling or baby, but we were pretty sure that was baby boy.
So, last night we were sitting on the couch watching TV and I felt really hungry all of a sudden. I then felt movement! I told Ben and he quickly put his hand on my belly. There was no mistaking it. Our little guy was kicking or punching me! We felt him for about a minute and it was the coolest thing! I was joking that he was hungry and since I wasn't feeding him, he kicked me :) So, I ate a snack and went to bed. It feels SO real now that we've felt our little boy!
