It would have been okay if I had known someone there, but I had only met 2 of them the night before and the rest were complete strangers. Not to mention the fact that most of the other girls there were giving me some major crusties because I was there with Ben. However, the whole event wasn't a bust because I did get to see a Sobe bomb for the first time. So, after one of the most awkward hours of my life, Ben suggested that we leave and I was all for it. He wanted to go muddin' in the truck and I thought that was a good idea since there were only 2 seats I knew he couldn't invite anyone else (I might be exagerating this part a little, but I like to give Ben a hard time aobut it). We had so much fun and this is what the truck ended up looking like
We started a playful little mud fight and as Ben was walking away, I thought to myself, 'A lot of the frustration that I felt tonight would easily go away if I hit him in the back of the head with this mud pie'...direct hit. Nailed him and got his hat all dirty! I was laughing so hard and I could tell he wasn't amused at all. I wanted to say, "And that's for ignoring me all night" but I kept it to myself.
So from that point on we were pretty much dating...well kind of. There were a few awkward instances where he attended events without inviting me and I would see his friends later (like Dave and Jenny) and they would ask me why I wasn't there. The answer of, "because I wasn't invited" quickly disolved as we started spending more and more time together.

This went on for about 3 weeks and then we decided that it was getting pretty serious and started talking about marriage! WHAT? After 3 weeks of knowing someone, I don't think so! I always said that I could NEVER marry someone unless I had known them and dated them for at least a year. So, to all the single ladies out there...never say never or it just might happen to you!
So April was gone, May was well under way and we decided that we were going to get married.

What a cute love story!
Sorry, I'm still getting the jist of this blogging. I'm so excited to come out and see you guys for a couple of days!!!
Awww! Isn't it funny that the girls that say they have to date a guy for a year before they get married are usually the same girls that get engaged after 3 months?! I was in that boat too! Mark and I were engaged longer than we dated...arg. But we both knew shortly after our first few dates. CRAZY kids we are!
I loved reading your love story! It was fun to hear about you guys!
I just remember that Gary moved into our first apartment (and out of the one with Dave) a few weeks before we were married...and then before we got married you guys were engaged! It must have been right. Sorry we were so distant when you first entered the scene - Gary was working 50 hours a week and I was in Exercise Phys for 4 weeks. I took the final the day before we got married. uggh. Its great that Ben incorporated Sobe bombs into your dating...were we at that bonfire? Was that the one with the girl who got her bra burned? About the dating....Gary and I dated for 2 years...I always wanted to date for a long time but when I met Gary I decided I could make an exception...then he decided to take his fine time deciding to ask me. You're right when you said you really can't predict things! Enough of this comment, great story. Thanks for posting.
awww... i love it!
That was fun to read! I have never heard this story!
The midnight study session paid big dividends!
LOVE it! you guys are a perfect match!
I love it! All of it! What an adventure you guys have had and continue to have. I am glad you got to spend Easter with Sara. Being with a best friend makes it more bareable to be away from family, I'm sure. :-) I love Sara's fringe too! Super cute and funny we both did it. haha! I don't have a date just yet. I will be spending every Monday and Tuesday at our old stomping grounds all through may and part of June. So we'll see how prepared I feel after that. :-)
